Hi! We are Yvette & Larry...
For the past few years we have been talking about becoming full time Rv'ers, and we finally did it! We are Full-Time Airstreamers! We are new to this life and can't wait to share all that we do & learn along our travels.
Larry is retired from the Air Force and I was a teacher for 15 years. Together, we have 3 children and 1 grandbaby.
As well as being newbie airstreamers, we own several vacation properties that we love hosting! One is in Florida and another in Alabama.
Grilling, DIY and Traveling are our what we love to do!

AIRSTREAM Life
We downsized from our beach house into a 30' Airstream! After years of talking about it we finally did it! Here’s how it went...
Here it is! This is a quick 2 minute tour of our new home!
It happened!! IT CRACKED!! Here is how we fixed it without having to order a new one:)
We found an easy, classic looking product that helps to protect our tires.
Even though the airstream has a bubble leveler on the front, it’s not always accurate. We are LOVING this bluetooth leveler.
RV PARK
RV PARK
As we travel and book our stays we love to look at the reviews. We wanted to be able to share our thoughts on places we have stayed so that other RVers can have insight as well. We wanted to do it quickly so we came up with a 60 sec. RV park review! They each go over basics that most RVers want to know! We stick to the facts and try not to give our opinions too much!
FLORIDA
WE jet Skied to BIMINI, Bahamas!!!
Yes, you read that right! We JET-SKIED TO BIMINI, BAHAMAS from FLORIDA! Most of the time when we tell people that we jet-skied to the Bahamas the first words out of their mouths are... "What? You JET-SKIED to the BAHAMAS???"
So.... here you go!
In 2019, Larry had a co-worker come to him and tell him that he and some boating friends were going to navigate the ocean from Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini, Bahamas. He was going to take his jet ski and asked if Larry & I wanted to go.
Clearly you know the answer to that!
The video below captures the trip as best as we could. Having the jet ski with us on the island was a bonus! It allowed us to travel the water around the island. There is a small island called "Honeymoon Harbor" where there are sting rays and nurse sharks. There is also a ship wreck that people jump from. Without the jet ski I don't think we would have even known about those.
It was definitely a bucket list item- in fact I didn't even know it was on my bucket list, but now it is checked off! We loved every minute of it and hope one day to get back to Bimini. I don't think we will need to jet ski again though!
But... never say never!
There is a ferry that will take you from Miami to Bimini (about 2.5 hours) that I would like to try- another bucket list item!
What's it like in BIMINI, BAHAMAS?
AH-mazing! What a small piece of paradise! Bahamas has about 30 inhabited islands and Bimini is one of them! Bimini
is only 2 miles long so it's not surprising that you can not rent a car on the island. There are a few cars, but they are owned by locals. The best way for tourists to get around is to rent a golf cart. We rented one for a two days, which to be honest was plenty. We spent those days touring the island, again, it's only 2 miles long so you can do it in 2 days :) We loved driving around and finding small beaches. We had one that was our favorite! There was a small hut where they made FRESH pina coladas in a pineapple! DELICIOUS!!! They also had a local island restaurant that served conch fritters- which were yummy as well! We went to the famous Joe's Conch Shack and actually met JOE! He was so personable and let us watch him "shuck" a conch. There was a conch hill that he let me pick a beautiful conch shell from. As you can see from the pictures- the water is unbelievably clear! The island has a VERY relaxed vibe- not a party island- at least not what we experienced.
The days that we didn't have the golf cart we spent at the resort or on our jetski. We ended up renting an Airbnb in the resort area. There is a Hilton on the island, but the Airbnb is in the gated portion of the resort and was a lot less expensive!
We would love to go back someday soon! We loved the locals and always felt very safe on the island. We will 100% rent an Airbnb the next time again.
WE jet Skied to Alabama through the intercostaL!
After our ski trip to Bimini, we were looking for a new adventure! Due to covid, we were limited. So we decided to stay in the US. Since we live in Florida we wanted to find a place that we could go to from here. The intercoastal waterway to Dauphin island seemed like a fun option... and it was! One of the first things we had to do was to find a place that would allow is to keep our jetski! not as easy as it sounds. But we did find a great location, with amazing hosts called Dolphin Island harbor house. we were able to navigate the waters and pull our just ski right up! since we didn't have island transportation, we rented a golf cart for the 3 days we were there. The island is very quite, which is nice. We will definitely be back, but next time by car!
A weekend on Dauphin Island, Alabama
After our jet ski adventure through the inter-coastal, we made it to Dauphin Island! Like I mentioned above, we stayed at DI Harbor house (DIHARBORHOUSE.COM) which is pictured above. It is a Bed & Breakfast with very relaxed hosts. They have a nice dock with fishing poles that they allow the guests to use. We spent one weekend there, and truthfully, because we live on the beach in Florida, that was perfect. It is a very quiet island with limited things to do. Definitely a place to go and relax. Honestly, we did not spend anytime on the beach at all. We took the golf cart around the island and stopped at local shops. One day we spent several hours at the Pelican Pub, a local bar. We played darts, talked to locals and spent tons on the juke box! It was a great time there! We also had a delicious bloody mary at Pirates Bar and Grill. This is one of the best restaurants on the island. The location in beautiful and it has a good menu. We enjoyed taking the golf cart around the island checking out the local homes as well. But, truthfully, that was about it. It was very relaxing. We slept in, had slow starts to the day and ended up on the dock at night for a few casts & then off to bed.
While we were passing through NC we decided we wanted to try something new. So, we took our car on several ferries and got to experience so much of the Carolina coast. We can’t wait to take the airstream on it.
our
projects
When we moved into our beach home, we used this closet for everything and anything that we didn't know what to do with. SO basically it as a HOT MESS! At first, I was thinking maybe we can make it into an office like space-desk, etc. But the closet is in a hall that leads to the pool and beach. So, we both thought of a BEACH BENCH! So lucky that Larry is handy! We started with purging the items in the closet and to be honest, I don't know if we kept anything! Then, we took down the doors and painted the closet. We didn't want to just throw the doors out, so Larry came up with the idea to repurpose them as doors to the bottom of the beach bench, so that way we still have some storage. We knew we wanted some small shelves and a large one on top. Here are some pictures to show the progression.
We had this wagon sitting outside under the stairs and would occasionally use it to pull things from the garage. I decided that it needed some TLC!
